Mission Statement...
Our new feature film from The Garden Diet, "Jesus The Healer", currently in production, is based on the Dead Sea Scrolls' accounts of Jesus speaking about health.
We developed the screenplay a couple of years ago and then put it on the shelf! Then at a party at our friend Teresa Jordan's home a couple of months ago, we met Marcus Patrick Osborne, a man we instantly thought would make a great "Jesus"... Only later did we find out he is a professional actor, and a brilliant one too - a Method actor. Un-co-incidentally, he had been desiring to play Jesus on film for a while!
Marcus did a great job of assembling a cast for the first shoot, all interested in or practicing the raw vegan diet already. Raw restauranteur Rawsheed, raw coach Karen Knowler, raw ultra-marathoner Kristopher Aaron, raw speaker Raw "T" Teresa, and Raw chef Angelic were all participants in this first scene. My daughters Raven and Shale made the costumes, Storm made his famous Tabouli and Marcus walked on almost everyone - as a massage - we had a great time!
Everyone is raving about the resulting trailer, which Julie (Jules) Pitcher did an amazing job of conceptualizing and editing, and apparently it is already making the rounds in Hollywood!
We hope you will help us hold the vision of this film being a work of epic beauty, light, and simplicity, reaching millions of people! Our vision is for "Jesus The Healer" to be released within six months.
We are so excited about this film! I think it is going to really bring the raw diet to the masses. Most religious movies do really well simply because of the controversy raised by the church itself. Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ earned $600,000,000 at the box office, and I think our Jesus film is as light as his film was dark. Not only will our film have the controversy to make it a financial success, but it will also heal millions of people! When people walk out of this beautiful film, they will have the knowledge of how to prevent disease and to cure themselves of all manner of conditions including cancer!
This is truly missing information in our society at large. And to think that this was once in the bible, but centuries ago, when the Pope sometime in the 300's sought to make the bible more accessible to everyday people, and the bible was whittled down to the simplest "books", this was one of the many scriptures removed from the bible. Later some of these scriptures were found in caves around The Dead Sea, and some in the safe in the Vatican.
Also, I have to tell you this story - I was resisting speaking at Raw Spirit Fest, but decided to do it to support the raw movement. And that is where I met Teresa - who brought us our "Jesus", and her husband Lonnie who was the front man for the band "WAR" (remember their song, "Why Can't We Be Friends"), has also been an incredible inspiration creatively. Wow! Isn't it amazing how things work!
